London Marathon
Vicky Heywood will be running the Virgin London marathon on 22nd April 2012 for The Prostate Cancer Charity in loving memory of her granddad. The countdown is on with 6 week until the race date and training is progressing well. I’m sure everyone at the club wishes her well and if anyone wishes to sponsor her, forms are up in the club.

Member of the month
A big well done to everyone for all there hard efforts this year so far. The top 3 attendees are; Jane Woodwards 29, Irene Hillier 25 and Peter Russell 25. Excellent attendance guys, keep up the hard work! We have 2 special achievers in February: Peter Russell for his excellent progression in running and Robin Barrell for some excellent work in circuit training classes-he has also put the average age up in the class by 10 years!
Classes are Tuesdays: Legs bums & Tums 9.30am prompt with Vicky and Wednesday’s 9.30am with Rob, and 6.30 pm Vicky. Everyone is welcome!

Exercise Tip of the month
Core Stability
All work done on the core fitness ball will improve your overall core strength. To make your exercises harder, close your knees and ankles together, this will make you less stable therefore increasing the workload on your core muscle. For more help on the ball please see Rob.

The Ironman Team Challenge
Our first Ironman event will take place on June 23rd, so if there are any keen swimmers, cyclists or runners who want to take part in the challenge get your name down at reception. We will be raising money for Help the Heroes. This is a team challenge so everyone will be able to partake.
